My daughter is in Year 11 and with GCSEs looming large, she hasn’t been able to make it to the finish line of the end of term and is off school today with a cold.
It’s not only Year 11s of course - school can take a lot out of children no matter what their age. This might be because of the pressure of the academic work, the fact of being surrounded by a million one shared viruses or because of the tiredness caused by having to focus hard on keeping their behaviour in check. Whatever the cause, the result can be coming down with something toward the end of term or right as term ends - right when it should be time to have some fun.
This is the time to make sure you’re armed with homeopathic remedies that can help nip things in the bud or help your child bounce back from an illness more surely and more swiftly.
My daughter has been taking the homeopathic remedy Pulsatilla because she’s snotty, wanting to make sure she’s loved and looked after and feeling rather sorry for herself. Pulsatilla helps drain the mucus from the sinuses and rebuilds the energy and independence.
Other remedies to consider would be the following:
Aconite - if your child seems all of a sudden to be coming down with something - especially if they wake at night with a fever or if they’ve been caught out in the cold.
Gelsemium - if you or your child go into a flu-like situation with chills, the body feels heavy, the eyelids droop and energy levels plummet.
Ferrum Phos - for a cold that creeps up on you or your child slowly and leaves you feeling weary or lethargic. This remedy helps those whose colds often tend to go to their chest.
There are many homeopathic remedies to help you through coughs, colds and the flu - too many to mention here - so please get in touch for more information.
