Homeopathy for stress #2

Although we all suffer stress to a greater or lesser degree during the juggling tricks of life, we all feel it differently and we are each affected by varying triggers. The homeopathic approach respects these differences and your individuality. Understanding what makes you stressed, how that stress feels and also considering what physical symptoms you might experience when you feel stressed, will all help you identify the homeopathic remedies that will be of best support to you in stress management.

Below are a few more remedies that are used most widely in the homeopathic treatment of stress. Please also refer to last week’s blog for other remedies.

Homeopathic remedies do not have side-effects and are safe to use by young and old alike.

Nux Vomica
This remedy suits a person who tends to push themselves very hard. They may be ambitious about work or exercise, feeling competitive and very driven to push through their own limits. For these people, stress will feel like irritation and anger. Under stress, they’re likely to feel like their fuse is getting shorter and shorter while they concurrently reach for more and more stimulants to keep them going. This is an over-adrenalised system and the gastrointestinal tract is affected particularly under this strain.

Aconite
This remedy is of huge benefit in times of acute anxiety, and if you suffer from panic attacks, I would strongly recommend looking into the remedy Aconite. At moments of heightened anxiety, the kind of person who would benefit from this remedy, will feel so anxious that they might die. They may experience palpitations and feel hugely restless and as if they’re in shock.

For my clients, I tend to mix this remedy with others such as Adrenalin in its homeopathic form as the remedies together can really help bring things back into balance quickly.
