Calendula officinalis is more commonly known a Marigold and is a fabulous remedy for the skin. It is most often used for issues connected with skin injuries, so cuts, wounds, burns and cuts post surgery. However it is also used for conditions such as eczema or dermatitis. In short, calendula can be beneficial for symptoms where there is inflammation, redness and slow-healing wounds.

You can use calendula in a cream to put on to the affected area to soothe and heal. You can use calendula in a herbal tincture diluted in water and dabbed on to the affected area. You can add some drops of calendula to a bottle of witch hazel for your child’s acne to reduce inflammation and prevent scarring. You can also take calendula internally as a homeopathic remedy to work on wound healing from the inside out.
