Teens and homeopathy #5 period pain

Painful, heavy or irregular periods, including connected diagnoses of PCOS, endometriosis or fibroids, are commonly treated with homeopathy.

Dealing with complex conditions such as endometriosis must be done through a professional homeopath, but there are some remedies that can be prescribed from home to deal with uncomplicated and non-severe period pains.

Every person is different and homeopathy is an individualised form of medicine. Therefore, there is no one remedy for period pain. Below are three major remedies that are particularly useful for this issue but if your or your teen’s symptoms sound different, please get in touch as there are many different options.

Magnesium Phosphate

This is probably my first remedy for period pain. It helps those people who spend the painful days of their periods hugging hot water bottles to their stomachs and wanting to be in the foetal position. A dose of Magnesium Phosphate dissolved in warm water and sipped will often be a great help for these people.

Chamomilla

If you or your teen’s pain is intense - almost feeling unbearable - and makes you feel irritable or angry, Chamomilla may be your remedy. It’s most likely to be your remedy if you want to move around to ease their pain.

Belladonna

Think of this remedy for your teen if their pain comes suddenly and intensely when the bleed suddenly arrives. Alongside the pain, may come feelings of heat and restlessness. This remedy is most likely to be helpful if the bleed is bright red and quite heavy.

If your situation sounds different to these, please get in touch to find out about other remedies that can be really helpful for period pain.
