Homeopathy for conditions your GP will no longer be allowed to prescribe for #1 Sore throats and sinus congestion.

As you know, there are over 30 conditions that GPs are no longer allowed to prescribe for. Therefore, as a parent, it is both useful and a big weight off your mind to have homeopathic remedies to hand for these mild, but often upsetting or troublesome conditions. In this blog, I’ll describe the top remedies for two of these conditions: acute sore throats and sinus congestion.

Our much loved and valued NHS is under unmanageable amounts of pressure. As one measure to help ease this pressure, there are a number of mild conditions that a GP may no longer prescribe for. Over the next few weeks, we will have a look at the first line of homeopathic remedies that can be thought of to tackle these conditions from home.

Sore throats

If your child gets the sudden arrival of a sore throat, that may be accompanied by a flushed face and a fever, reach for the homeopathic remedy Belladonna.

For sore throats that have been around a little while but are still causing discomfort with pain that may reach into the neck or ears, go to Hepar Sulph to help bring down the inflammation.

In general, ensure you drink plenty of fluids to help clear any infection. Remove dairy from the diet to help reduce catarrh. Gargle with echinacea tea or with salt water. Fresh garlic also helps fight infection.

Sinus congestion

The three remedies Hydrastis, Kali Bichromium and Pulsatilla are frequently combined to create a very effective drainage remedy.

If you find yourself having sore throats or sinus congestion regularly, it would be best to see a professional homeopath, who will be able to work on the deeper level of health to reduce the frequency and intensity of your symptoms.
